Paul Oakenfold San Diego Concert reviews
Revamped Nutracker starts the season right!
The revamped "Nutcracker" by Paul Oakenfold was a delightful surprise with a fun plot and adherence to tradition, maintaining professionalism and quality. Breathtaking were the starry night and other new sets. A must for this production, the live symphony was fantastic. I give an approval rating of 10 to the Sugarplum Fairy's costume (the most important costume, in my opinion). The child dancers were extremely talented. Since Sunday, Tchaichovsky's music has been in my head. Kind of amusing and understandable were a couple of low-hanging wires and other production snafus, given the complicated logistics of the company's move to DPAC for three days.
